Welcome to my website.

Seeking help for personal problems takes initiative, so, congratulations to you for taking this step! Many people wait too long to get help for their problems. This can increase the length of time it takes to solve those problems.

Psychotherapy has been shown to alleviate depression, anxiety and other symptoms. In addition, psychotherapy may help you gain insight into problematic patterns in relationships and other areas of life.

I have been a psychotherapist for more than 20 years. I have an MSW (Master’s degree in Social Work) from New York University. I am licensed as a Clinical Social Worker (the most common type of mental health professional). I treat problems including depression, anxiety disorders, trauma-related problems, relationship problems, and anger problems.

I work with individuals, couples and families. My theoretical approach is psychodynamic, but I also use supportive, cognitive/behavioral and family systems techniques. The first session includes an assessment and recommendations for the treatment that will be best for you. Sometimes psychotherapy works well without any other treatment. In other cases, additional treatments such as medication or a 12-step program may be recommended. If I believe that psychotherapy is not the best approach for your problems, I will recommend an alternate course of action.

My practice adheres to current best-practice standards and strict ethical guidelines.
